A Polish dad reportedly blew up his own home after he found that his wife and children went on a picnic without him.
The father, Czeslaw Kaminski, destroyed the home in Chechlo Durgie near the city of Lodz by starting a fire in the basement before throwing cylinders of gas on the blaze. The fire and ensuing explosion demolished the home.
Kaminski apparently didn’t get out of the home in time and was injured, reported The Metro. He was taken to a hospital via air ambulance and his condition is said to be critical.
It all started in the morning when he found a note from his wife saying she was going on a picnic without him. Neighbors described the couple’s relationship as extremely strained.
“He called me on the mobile phone and demanded that I go home but when I refused he said he was going to get revenge. I did not take him seriously and then I returned home to find this,” his wife was quoted by the Metro as saying.
The report comes just a month after a Los Angeles-area man blew himself up in his home in an apparent suicide.
According to KTLA-TV, the man used homemade explosives “that look like basically makeshift pipe bombs,” a police spokesman said at the time.
