Mad Men season 7 is 14 episodes long but there’s going to be a super long break in the middle.

after episode 7 on May 25, the show won’t start airing again until sometime in 2015.

The first part of season 7 started on April 13, meaning the second part will likely start around the same time.

Episode 7’s description is short as usual. Titled “Waterloo,” it will include Don receiving a troubling letter and Pete butting heads with Cutler.

Also, Roger gets an unexpected phone call while a risky venture entails a new future for Peggy.

The episode is written by Carly Wray and Matthew Weiner, who wrote the season 6 finale. Weiner also directed the episode.

Check out a preview below (notice that many of the clips have already aired).

As for why the show was split into two parts, Weiner told Stephen Colbert in a recent interview that it builds off the success in doing the same thing for Breaking Bad’s final season, noting that it boosted the ratings “in a huge way.”

Another probable reason for the break is that the network has an established show on Sunday nights to try to entice viewers to turn into whatever other show is on that night, which at the moment is Turn.

It’s possible that by next year that show will be a new one from Weiner.

Season 7 is the final season of Mad Men.
