UPDATE: LIRR wrote on Twitter that “LIRR service is restored on the Port Washington Branch with residual delays of up to 30 minutes due to police activity east of Auburndale.”

A Long Island Railroad (LIRR) employee told The Epoch Times that a Penn Station-bound train may have hit a person, but it was not confirmed.

It is unclear if the person was on the tracks or was killed.

The LIRR posted on Twitter: “6:44PM Great Neck due Penn at 7:16PM which is still being held east of Auburndale due to police activity, is expected to depart by 7:45PM.”

Several Twitter users posted about a LIRR train potentially hitting someone.
