“La Gata” is coming to Univision soon and another promo video has been released ahead of the release date.
The show features Maite Perroni, who is seen struggling to maintain a roof over her head unless she brings enough money back home.
Daniel Arenas (Corazon Indomable) is playing Perroni’s lover, and was seen on another of the promo videos reassuring Perroni that he wouldn’t let his mother separate them.
The pair grew up together, their love blossoming over time.
The new show will premiere in Mexico on May 5 as production took place in Bordo, Xochiaca in the country.
The show’s premiere date on Univision hasn’t been announced but shouldn’t be too long after the Mexico premiere.
Perroni’s character Esmeralda is described as thus: She’s tender and a savage... innocent and a warrior. Her name is Esmeralda, but they call her ‘La Gata’ (The Cat).”
“La Gata” is one of those stories that has had multiple versions, including a show that started in 1970 nad starred Maria Rivas and Juan Ferrera.
