Kyle Massey cancer rumors spread on Twitter following the George Zimmerman not guilty verdict and the death of “Glee” star Cory Monteith.

A spokesperson with Massey, the up-and-coming start of “That’s So Raven,” told Gossipcop.com that Massey does not have cancer. ETOnline also reported he does not have the disease.

“This is a very serious disease and he’s upset that someone would make light of such a serious subject. He has been affected personally from the disease as he has had family members who have passed away from cancer,” a rep told ETOnline.

The bit that Massey has cancer was lumped in a frequently retweeted message saying Casey Anthony is pregnant and other things.

“Cory Monteith has died. Kyle Massey has cancer. Casey Anthony is pregnant. Zimmerman is free. I’m done,” one of the popular tweets said.

It appears that the Anthony pregnancy comment is a rumor and was merely spreading a report by the Daily Mail and National Enquirer.

Monteith was found dead in a hotel room on Saturday, Vancouver police said.

In the past, Twitter has been a breeding ground for rumors and hoaxes. A recent, widely spread rumor was about singer Adele getting married, reported The Huffington Post last week. There have also been numerous rumors about Eddie Murphy’s death.

And as the The Sun previously pointed out, Justin Bieber “has been the victim of more death hoaxes than the amount of albums he has released.” In 2011, “#RIPJustinBieber” trended and tens of thousands thought believed was dead, the paper said.
