Two kittens were found colored blue and green, possibly by a permanent marker. Police found the felines in West Yorkshire, U.K., on April 25 while they were looking into a separate animal welfare issue.

The kittens were brought to Bradford Cat Watch Rescue where they were bathed and fed. But even after two baths there was still much ink on them.

“This is a dreadful act of cruelty and who knows what untelling damage this may have caused,” stated Katie Jane, a volunteer with the animal rescue organization, in a Facebook post.
