Teamwork paid off in a joint operation with the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), enabling agents to seize a shipment of counterfeit bluejeans on Aug. 17.
“By partnering with industry and other government agencies such as ICE and LAPD, all enforcement efforts are mutually enhanced in the combat of cross-border trade in counterfeit and pirated goods. Joint cooperation in such working relationships accomplishes large success,” said Carlos Martel, CBP acting director of field operations in Los Angeles, in a press release.
