Justice Dept. Watchdog Report Backs Trump’s Rationale for Firing Comey

The Justice Department watchdog report released on June 14 fully supports the rationale President Donald Trump provided when he fired former FBI Director James Comey.

When Trump fired Comey on May 9, 2017, the White House issued a statement saying that Trump “acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”
