A new trend was started on Twitter after a Fox anchor’s tweet provoked anger from people on Sunday night.

Joyce Evans, a reporter and anchor with Fox in Philadelphia, “teased” an upcoming story about six people being shot with the following tweet: “Thought ‘Breaking Bad’ was hot last Sunday? See who’s breakin‘ bad in SW Philly leavin’ 6 people SHOT – Tonite at Ten!”

Fox retweeted her.

Some thought that she should delete her tweet and issue an apology--dozens called it “tasteless,” for instance--but she stood by her words.

“Last tweet NOT AT [sic] ALL A JOKE. Very real life drama was the point as oppose to one that end on TV. That was my point,” she said.

Later, people began making similarly outrageous comparisons using the hashtag #JoyceEvansTweets.
