NEW YORK—Lake Clifton’s Josh Selby (No. 4 Rivals, No. 5 ESPNU) by way of New York City has announced his decision for the University of Kansas during the Jordan Brand Classic on Saturday to the surprise of no one.
“I think that’s the best place for me to mature and get to the next level,” Selby said.
“[Coach Bill Self] kind of reminds me of myself. He’s very outgoing, a good coach and he’s going to get the job done.”
Kansas runs an NBA-type offense, which attracted Selby.
“They run an NBA-type offense with pick and roll and pick and pop,” Selby said.
“When I get to the next level I don’t want to be looking around [thinking] this [system] is different. I'll already know it.”
The 6-foot-3-inch, 183-pound point guard had been weighing his choices between Arizona, Connecticut, Kansas, and Kentucky. He verbally committed to Tennessee in 2008 but de-committed last July.
