Joseph Robert Patterson Posts Bond, Released from Jail

Joseph Robert Patterson, the man accused of killing Adrian Peterson’s son, was released from jail on bond Tuesday, it was reported.

Joseph Robert Patterson, the man accused of killing Adrian Peterson’s son, was released from jail on bond Tuesday, it was reported.

Patterson is accused of killing a toddler in Sioux Falls earlier this month. Reports later identified the child as the son of Peterson, the former NFL Most Valuable Player who plays for the Minnesota Vikings.

Patterson posted bond at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, reported KSFY-TV. His bond was set at around $750,000.

He was charged with second degree murder, first degree manslaughter, aggravated battery of an infant, and related charges.

Patterson’s defense attorney, Tim Rensch, said that he has family ties and is in the middle of a construction project.

His pre-trial hearing will take place Jan. 13, 2014.
