Jimmie Smith, an assistant basketball coach at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, New Jersey, was arrested on August 28 after police officers say they found cocaine in his car.

Smith was approached by detectives in the parking lot of a Home Depot, but sped away when they turned on their lights and identified themselves as police officers, hitting one of the detective’s car with his SUV, reported NBC.

Police officers later found more than seven ounces of powdered cocaine in his vehicle, and he’s been charged with possession of and intent to distribute cocaine.

Smith is in Passaic County Jail on $50,000 cash bail and he could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
