Jessa Duggar’s fiance Ben Seewald is helping her father Jim Bob Duggar out with his real estate business.

Jim Bob has had various jobs through the years, including as an insurance salesman and used car salesman. But he and Michelle attended a seminar discussing financial freedom through living a debt-free life decades ago, marking a turning point in their lives.

They decided to only make purchases if they have enough cash, and saved enough money to make investments in things like rental and commercial property so that Jim Bob doesn’t have to have a full-time job.

“I’ve learned self control and also a lot about construction,” he told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette back in 2001.

“All these different businesses that I’ve been in have really given me a broad perspective of what the average person has to go through every day.”

Ben recently proposed to Jessa and decided to move into the Duggars’ home.

“He moved up here a few weeks ago,” Jim Bob, 49, told People magazine.

“It has been really good. He has been able to spend a lot more time with Jessa and our family. We have a guesthouse in front of our house, with a shower and everything, separate from the main house.”

Jim Bob said that he has hired Ben to do work for him while Ben continues college courses online.

“Ben was living four hours away in Hot Springs with his parents,” Jim Bob says.

“After Michelle and I were talking about it, we have so many projects to do that we need help for – everything from construction projects to keeping the grass mowed to putting roof on a building, paperwork and things like that – and we asked him if he would be interested in moving up here so that Jessa and his relationship could be really accelerated. He was all for it and his parents were happy about it.”

Jessa and Ben have been busy preparing for the wedding, which is scheduled for early November.

Jessa recently shared a picture of Ben gift registering at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
