Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, wore a Boston Red Sox cap after the team won the World Series on Wednesday night.
Carney, who was born in Washington, D.C., wore the cap during the press event on Thursday afternoon, which was captured by photographers.
Carney was asked a number of questions, including the Obama administration’s knowledge of the assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year.
The Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 at Fenway Park--the first time in 95 years that the Red Sox won at home.
