A Jackie Robinson statue in Brooklyn, New York has been found covered with graffiti and racist slurs on Wednesday.

The statue is outside the Brooklyn Cyclones ballpark MCU Park, reported Liz Cho of WABC

Robinson is known as the first Black baseball player to play in Major League Baseball.

The statue was created in 2005 and is next to a statue of Pee Wee Reese, who is known for his support of Robinson.

A Brooklyn Cyclones spokesman told the Brooklyn Eagle that the defacing likely happened after a game on Tuesday night.
