Italy: Boat Carrying About 250 People Capsized Off Sicily Coast

A boat carrying about 250 people--all migrants, according to the Italian Coast Guard--has capsized off the coast of Sicily on Friday.

The boat capsized in the Channel of Sicily, the coast guard said, reported ANSA.

Two coast guard ships and helicopters are in the area responding to the accident.

Dead bodies are floating in the water.

Over 300 people died in a similar disaster near the island of Lampedusa last week.
