The Mumbai Indians stunned the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday and have earned the fourth spot in the playoffs.
The playoffs will kick off with KXIP taking on KKR in the First Qualifier. The Tuesday match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 8 p.m. IST.
The Indians will play CSK on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in the Eliminator.
IPL’s playoff format is thus: The first and second place teams (KXIP and KKR) play in the First Qualifier. The winner goes straight to the Final.
The loser will play in the Second Qualifier, against whichever team won the Eliminator.
The winner of the Second Qualifier will then advance to the Final.
The Second Qualifier will take place on Friday, May 30 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The Final will take place on Sunday, June 1 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
