A 2-month-old Bronx girl has died nearly a week after she was taken to a hospital with numerous injuries including a fractured spine.
Police say Sherlin Camacho died Monday morning at Montefiore Hospital.
Officers found the girl on Jan. 10 after responding to a 911 call of an infant having difficulty breathing.
Right after the girl was taken to the hospital, NYPD detectives began asking residents of the family’s home, including her father, mother, and namely her 5-year-old brother, the New York Post reported.
The young boy told police that Sherlin made him “angry.” He then demonstrated his rage on a life-size baby doll on how he would hold his sister by slamming it down and punching the doll, police sources told the Post.
The girl was taken to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition until Monday.
