An Indian town has renamed itself “Trump Village” in a warm gesture to the American president ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Washington.
Sulabh International, an aid group which focuses on providing sanitation in India, has installed billboards and signs bearing President Donald Trump’s image throughout the small town of Marora in the northern state of Haryana, Reuters reported. A large billboard reads “Welcome to Trump Village.”
Sulabh International said it has installed over 1.5 million sanitation facilities throughout India. The move to rename the village, officially “Trump Sulabh Village,” was partially to raise awareness for the group’s work.
