India Earthquake Today: Quake Shakes Nicobar and Andaman Islands

An earthquake hit today off India’s Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The quake was about 68 miles southeast of Misha, Nicobar Islands, the U.S. Geological Service said. 

The strong 6.7 magnitude quake hit at a relatively shallow depth of 6.2 miles.

An official at the provincial disaster management control room said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage but the earthquake had been felt by islanders, reported Reuters.

There is no tsunami alert.
