A plane has crashed near Cataldo in Idaho on August 18.

The Idaho State Patrol and officers from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Shosone County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the plane and any possible survivors, according to KHQ reporter Kelsey Watts.

KREM-TV reported that after more than three hours of searching, officials have located the plane crash outside Cataldo on Beaver Road.

There’s no word yet how many people were on board or where exactly the crash is.

Local residents said that they heard on the scanner that the crash was found in somebody’s backyard; the people apparently weren’t home at the time of the crash.

It was originally called in by a homeowner near Cataldo.

Story developing; check back for updates.
