The weather forecast for Houston today, Thursday, calls for freezing rain and sleet to leave accumulations of ice.

The radar projections indicate that the rain and sleet mix could turn into snow on Friday morning, but most likely north of Houston.

Highways and highway bridges will be “extremely dangerous” from the ice, according to an alert from the National Weather Service.

Temperatures could drop as low as 28 Fahrenheit.

Winds are projected to be 15 to 20 miles per hour with wind chills between 15 and 25 miles per hour.

However, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are projected to be mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching as high as 67 Fahrenheit.
