Even the poorest can afford a good deed.

Mr. Zdenek Horvath, a homeless man, handed in 50,000 Czech crowns ($2,736.38 USD) to the police in Litvinov, Czech, which he found while scrounging for food in a trash bin.

“I found so much money but wanted to keep a clear conscience and so decided to bring the money to the police,” the homeless man was reported as saying to the local police.

Local authorities rewarded Mr. Horvath with food vouchers worth 1200 crowns ($65.71 USD).

So far six people have come to claim the money, which is currently held at the department of Lost & Found. It has not yet been decided who is the rightful owner.

Mr. Horvath may receive 10% of the total amount as a reward for finding it.

Not only has Mr. Horvath kept a clear conscience, but he has been widely praised in Czech.
