Home Depot Sales Soar as Americans Turn to Home Improvement Projects Amid Pandemic

American consumers under pandemic lockdowns turned to residential improvement projects in droves, sending Home Depot sales soaring by 23.4 percent in the company’s second fiscal quarter.

Analysts surveyed by Refinitiv expected the world’s largest home improvement retailer to report $34.53 billion in second-quarter revenues, with Home Depot’s Aug. 18 earnings announcement (pdf) beating those expectations with a reported $38.1 billion.
