Individual’s heroic actions are all over social media, showing instinctual action being taken by people in situations where others would have simply just walked away. In this video an unlikely hero dressed in a Santa costume, risks his life to stop a lady that can only be described as a maniac, driving away from an incident where she ran over a man crossing a busy street without even taking a second look to see if he was okay.
In the beginning of the video we see Santa heading to work when he witnesses what looks like a man being ran over by someone driving a black vehicle, as he’s about to stop to help this individual, he notices that the woman responsible has no intention of stopping as she slowly begins to drive away. Without a second thought Santa hops back onto his bike determined to catch the perpetrator.
He chases her through the busy streets of Paris, weaving in and out of heavy traffic along with another man driving a silver vehicle. When he eventually catches up to her, he calmly and very politely tries to calm her down to speak with her.
Sadly, this woman has no intention of stopping as she leads Santa into a false sense of assurance that she is going to stop. When Santa exits his bikes she again attempts to make off, Santa then without hesitation gets back on to his bike, beginning the chase for a second time.
By mere luck, he notices two police officers on motorcycles a couple hundred meters in front, he approaches them and relays the information to them about the incident as quickly as possible, as he points her out from amongst the tightly coiled traffic, she is still seen trying to get away, Santa’s decisive action however subsequently led to her being apprehended.
When watching this shocking but well documented video, you’ll notice that not only did she run someone over, but she drove recklessly and carelessly through crowds of people and cars determined to get away with what potentially could have been murder.
What’s really shocking is the lack of remorse she shows, as you she her sitting in her car looking straight ahead as if she’s unfazed by what she has just done. All she seems interested about is getting away, determined to do whatever it took to save her own skin.
Luckily enough we do have people out there like Santa, who do care enough about the public and their society that they are willing to put their lives on the line, and tenaciously go after those who commit bad deeds.
To conclude the sentencing for a person of this calibre should be easy, her lack of regard for life, whether or not she initially fled through panic, she could have stopped at any time and done the right thing. It’s unclear whether or not the person that got hit survived their ordeal, but hopefully they’ve made a full recovery and are able to move on with their life thanks to the determination and heroic nature of this Santa.
