The nominations for the 2016 Tony Awards are in!

Broadway mega-hit, “Hamilton” is nominated for a record-breaking 16 nominations, including major categories, Best Musical and Best Original Score

On May 3, live from the Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel in New York City, Tony winner Nikki M. James and nominee Andrew Rannells announced the contenders. 

Funnyman James Corden will host the 70th Annual Tony Awards which will air live on CBS June 12 at 8 p.m. ET

Lin-Manuel Miranda is nominated for his role in “Hamilton” for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. This comes on the heels of Miranda’s win of a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the musical that has been dominating Broadway, raking in a reported $500,000 per week.

Other nominations include: “Shuffle Along,” with 10 nominations; “She Loves Me” with eight nominations; and “Eclipsed” starring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o and “Humans” with six nominations each.
