Gywneth Paltrow is slated to play a country music singer in the Jan. 7 musical drama Country Strong, and the latest trailer confirms that she will sing in the movie.
The 37-year-old Oscar Award-winner stars as Kelly Canter, a country music superstar attempting to make her big comeback after a stint in rehab for alcoholism.
During her comeback, Paltrow’s character has to deal with romantic troubles while she’s on tour.
Tim McGraw also stars in the movie, playing her manager. Leighton Meester plays a younger country star on tour with Patrow’s character and tries to steal some of her fame.
In the first trailer released for the movie, Paltrow showcases her singing ability. She has had experience singing on the silver screen, performing songs in Duets.
