“Grand Theft Auto V” for the PC may not be out for a while--if ever--but fans of the game can play a mod of “Grand Theft Auto IV,” which features maps from “GTA V.”
“This mod turns Liberty City into Los Santos! It’s only the first Alpha release of the mod so it’s buggy and glitchy, it contains Downtown Los Santos, the Docks, The airport and a piece of Vinewood hills. There are not many vehicle and pedestrian paths yet,” reads a description of the mod, which came out Thursday.
The mod appeared to get mixed reviews on YouTube, with some users describing it as “buggy.” Some users praised it, however.
About a week ago, the North Yankton area from “GTA V” was converted to “GTA IV,” and it was posted online by modder Taltigolt.
“I don’t know when it will release but sometime in april, i’ve been harassed and threatened life threats, among other things by people for this mod anbd gta 5 mod for sometime now (sic),” he wrote on YouTube. “So i have to rush release it so expect it sometime in april, i am also going on a vacation for the first time in my life since 2005 so i’ll finally hopefully be able to relax (sic).”
Rockstar hasn’t confirmed if “GTA V” will be coming to the PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4. Currently, it’s only available for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
A Change.org petition has garnered nearly 700,000 signatures from fans of “GTA V,” asking Rockstar to bring it to the PC.
