Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson joined Author J.K. Rowling, in a soggy stroll down the rain-soaked red carpet for the premier of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in London on Tuesday. Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the film, took questions about his health after reports surfaced that he had contracted swine flu—a case he said was not severe. The sixth Harry Potter film opens worldwide on July 15.
Leno Hopes Cars Drive Ratings
Comedian Jay Leno plans to incorporate his vintage car collection into his new nightly show. Crews are busy prepping a larger than normal soundstage on the NBC lot in Burbank to accommodate the auto enthusiast occasionally driving onstage. This strategy reportedly stems from a desire to attract advertising revenue from auto companies—in the hopes that the move will shed a positive light on a challenged industry. Leno’s primetime show will premier in September.

The “Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers,” honoring the legendary comedian, will be hosted by “My Life on the D List” star, Kathy Griffin. The show is scheduled to tape on July 26 in Los Angeles and air on August 9 at 10 p.m.
Celebrities Reveal Musical Inspiration in New Book for Charity
In the UK, Starbucks is sponsoring the book, “Inspired By Music,” which features a forward by Prince Charles and contributions from celebrities such as Ozzy Osbourne, P. Diddy, Kevin Spacey, and Al Pacino. Each contributor picks a piece of music and explains how it has inspired him or her. The book will be sold in Starbucks coffee houses across the UK. All proceeds will benefit “The Prince’s Trust”—an organization that offers support to disadvantaged young people.
Madonna the Subject of Religious Protests in Poland
The Polish, Roman Catholic group, Catholic Society, is asking Madonna to reschedule or cancel her upcoming show. Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” is scheduled to stop in Warsaw, Poland on August 15 – the same day Catholics observe The Feast of the Assumption of Mary. The group is currently organizing daily prayer sessions and promises to picket outside the show if it is not cancelled.
