The latest reboot of the Godzilla film franchise is coming out in theaters on May 16, 2014.
The film, directed by Gareth Edwards, based on Dave Callaham’s story about the world’s most famous monster which, according to IMDb is “pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.”
The film stars Elizabeth Olsen as Elle Brody, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Ford Brody, Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody and Juliette Binoche as Sandra Brody.
British filmmaker, Gareth Edwards previously directed the 2010 title “Monsters,” a sci-fi thriller about a journalist helping a citizen through an infected zone in Mexico after an alien invasion.
The score for the Godzilla film was prepared by Alexander Desplat, and Edwards says on the film’s Facebook page that it was done “very much in the same tone of Akira.”
“As fans of his work, I think you’ll be very happy,” Gareth wrote.
Another fan asked about what to expect of the malevolent creatures.
“The creatures are original to this film but very much inspired by Toho (there are some Easter eggs for fans)” Edwards wrote.
