Global Q&A: ‘In your country, how can social, economic, and environmental well-being be better balanced?’
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dean VanVelzer, 34, Teacher: In the UAE, there is a large focus on economic success and wealth. However, this needs to be better balanced with social and environmental concerns. Minimum wages, housing regulation for foreign based workers, and environmental programs that focus on sustainable development and recycling are needed initiative in the UAE. With greater wealth and development comes greater need to focus on both the wellbeing of society and the environment.

Placing more focus on the well being of society, the individual, and the environment, as well as education in schools, would achieve a better balance between economic success and wealth.
