City officials announced Sunday that they will close four pools over the summer due to a budget shortfall. The Wagner Pool in Manhattan, Fort Totten Pool in Queens, Douglas & DeGraw Pool in Brooklyn, and West Brighton Pool in Staten Island will be shut down, reported NY1. The pool season will also be cut down by two weeks. Closing the pools and shortening the season will save the city around $1.5 million. The swimming season officially kicks off on June 29.
