An explosion was reported at the Brussels Central Train Station on Tuesday afternoon.

The BBC reported that police say the situation is now under control.

Reports indicate that Grand Palace in Brussels was evacuated.

News website De Morgen reported that a man with an “explosive belt” was neutralized by soldiers. “According to initial findings, there is not much damage, but more details are missing for now,” an official was quoted as saying.

“The incident is still under investigation,” said Peter De Waele of the federal police. “We got a call for a small explosion,” added fire department spokesman Pierre Meys. “There is currently no indication that there are wounded.”

Two explosions were heard, some reports said.

Details on potential casualties or damage have not come in.
