Ex-Marine kidnapped: A family says that Armando Torres, 27 and a former Marine, was kidnapped in Mexico.
The uncle of Torres, Eduardo Torres, told Texas broadcaster KVEO that the younger Torres went across the border on May 14 to visit his dad and didn’t come back.
“We communicate constantly and since that happened we haven’t heard from him.” said Torres.
Armando and two family members were kidnapped by armed men, says Eduardo.
“A cousin of ours from Mexico contacted his sister, his sister called us that he was picked up there in Mexico,” said Torres’s Uncle.
“They say when they got there, they were people with weapons and they picked him up,” said family member Patricia Torres.
The family is asking for help to get Torres back safely.
A Facebook group has been created, “Get Our Brother Back,” in which a cousin of Armando’s is asking for help to spread the word.
“I just want to say thank you for helping us out and spreading the news about my cousin Armado,” says Josue Luna. “My family still has not given up hope and we will never give up.”
One man, David Billen, said he’s written three letters, one to a Sen. Eddie Lucio, one to Austin, Texas, and another to the O'Reilly Factor. “Keep putting in work brothers,” Billen wrote in the Facebook group. “He needs us to network. Semper Fi and Yat-Yas!”
