The Elementary season 2 finale is coming up on May 15 as the season winds down.
Mycroft’s return may have seemed straightforward but leading up to and in the finale viewers will see it’s anything but.
Several situations lead into the finale. There’s rising tension between Sherlock and Joan, prompting Joan to reconsider her professional goals as she wrestles with the partnership. And a few secrets come out about Sherlock’s past, courtesy of Mycroft.
But the real plot of the finale is that Sherlock and Joan are forced to help Mycroft when he finds himself in “a great deal of trouble,” executive producer Rob Doherty told TVLine.
In fact, his life is in danger, and the only people who can help him out of this particular jam are Sherlock and Joan,“ he said. ”They really find themselves on an island where they can’t turn to the police, and case-wise, they have to take on a lot more than they do typically.”
A little more insight comes from what Doherty told TVLine, about the May 1 episode before the finale.
“We will be explaining that call and his relationship to the person on the other end of the line,” he said. “Mycroft is not all that he appears to be. Mycroft has a lot of explaining to do.”
