Edward Furlong, who starred in “Terminator 2” and “American History X,” was sentenced Tuesday to six months in jail for violating probation.

Furlong, 35, violated parole in a 2010, reported E! News. He was also jailed last month for alleged battery.

“Despite the best efforts of my office, and with the cooperation of the City Attorney and the Court in this case, Mr. Furlong had the opportunity to avoid Jail in a deal my office worked out which would of resolved not just this case but two other criminal cases in Beverly Hills, by checking himself into a drug rehabilitation program, a very unusual disposition in a case that alleged violence,” his attorney told E! News.

Superior Court Judge Dennis Mulcahy ordered that officials should not release Furlong early or give him any credit for time already served, reported The Associated Press. According to jail records on Tuesday, he might be released in May.

TMZ reported that he was sentenced on Monday for two separate probation violations.

His attorney added that when Furlong refused getting into the drug program, the court “ultimately decided that it was forced to sentence to him a hefty amount of jail time.”

“We are hopeful that Mr. Furlong uses this experience, unpleasant as it may be, to revisit the issue of Rehab when he is released,” he said.

Furlong most notably played the boy John Connor, who is protected by the T-800 Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, in 1991’s “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” He later played Daniel Vinyard in “American History X” in 1998 alongside Edward Norton.
