A fire at a tenement building in Edinburgh in the United Kingdom has trapped multiple people inside.
Rescue workers and firefighters were called to the blaze at 4:39 local time. The fire is at a building off of Lothian Road, near the Hanging Bat pub, reported BBC.
The fire was brought under control by emergency crews, reported STV.
“Firefighters have extinguished the fire in a common stair on Lothian Road,” a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue said. “We'll be on scene for a while. Some fire damage but no injuries.”
The Hanging Bat said via Twitter that the bar will be closed to the public until it is cleared to open by the fire brigade. “For the record the bar is totally fine,” it said. “Thank you for your concern.”
