Earthquake Today in Japan: 5.1 Quake Hits in Fukushima Prefecture

An earthquake hit today in Japan in the Fukushima Prefecture.

The 5.1 magnitude quake hit eight miles northwest of Takahagi and 9 miles west of Kitaibaraki, the U.S. Geological Service said.

The quake also hit 13 miles from both Hitachi and Daigo.

It struck at a depth of 6.2 miles (9.9 kilometers).

The quake was 91 miles from Tokyo.
