A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck southern Iran on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, which had a depth of 10 miles, hit at around 5:21 p.m. local time.

It was located around 39 miles from the Gulf city of Bandar Bushehr.

The city is the site of the nuclear power plant that was setup in 2011.
