Defending American Le Mans Series champs Dyson Racing have announced a new driver for the teams Lola Mazdas for the last two races of the ALMS season; the four-hour VIR 240 and the ten-hour Petit Le Mans.

Sports car ace Mark Patterson will co-drive with Michael Marsal in the No. 20 Dyson Lola Mazda at the VIR 240, and will join Chris Dyson and co-driver Guy Smith in the No. 16 for Petit Le Mans.

Patterson has driven Daytona Prototypes in the Grand Am Rolex series, and Audi R8s and McLaren
MP4-12C for United Autosports in the FIA GT3 and Blancpain Endurance Series. He also drove a P2 Oreca in the 2011 Petit Le Mans.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime to race with the Dysons, a team owned by longstanding friends with a branded name of success in ALMS racing,” Patterson said in Dyson press release. “When we tested, I was encouraged at how quickly the lap times came down and at how developed the car is.

“I am looking forward to driving with Michael Marsal at VIR and racing again at Petit, one of the great races in our sport.”
