Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson broke down after giving a family who’s friends with the Robertsons a house for Christmas.
Phil’s gift was shown on the A&E reality show.
The mother of the family also cried when she walked around the home.
During the episode, Phil gathered everyone together to pray.
“Father, we just give you a great big thank you for Theressa and all of her family,” he said, wiping away tears from under his sunglasses.
“Father as you know probably, I don’t cry that much ... just hard to stop the tears.”
During the episode, Phil Robertson said his family has known the Lewis family for over 40 years.
After the Lewis family started having financial trouble, the Robertsons felt compelled to step in.
“It’s a beautiful house,” Phil said.
“They’re just family members,” he said of the family. “It’s just helping them out. It’s a great gift for Christmas.”
Part of the episode showed the house being constructed. It’s actually a modular house, which means the home is constructed in a factory and then transported in pieces to the land, where it’s put together.
The Robertson family then finished it up, including building a deck in one day.
Fans appreciated the gesture.
“Duck Dynasty what they just did wow ... i salute them, using there wealth to help someone less fortunate,” said one via Twitter.
“Literally crying because of this episode of Duck Dynasty. It’s encouraging to see such blessed and godly people on tv these days,” said another.
New episodes of the show start in January 2015.
