The Droid Pro, a new smartphone unveiled by Verizon and Motorola on Wednesday, will be a business-oriented device with a QWERTY keyboard that will go head-to-head with RIM’s BlackBerry in competition for business users.
Motorola and Verizon describe the Droid Pro as a “global-ready” phone that would suit the needs of busy professionals that require corporate-level connectivity, e-mail, and security.
The Droid Pro will run a powerful 1 GHz processor and come with 4 GB of memory. It sports a 3.1-inch touch screen and has a 5 MP camera. The phone will run on the Android operating system and can connect to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 3G networks.
“The DROID PRO is an advanced business-ready solution that provides users with the full smartphone experience, redefined by delivering the power of a DROID,” Sanjay Jha, CEO of Motorola Mobility, said in a statement.
