Donald Trump, the billionaire and real estate magnate, is considering a campaign for president, multiple reports said on Tuesday.
Trump, who not only hosts “The Apprentice” on NBC but also “The Fabulous World of Golf” on the Golf Channel, pondered a run for president on politics-oriented TV channels Fox News and MSNBC.
“For the first time in my life, I’m actually thinking about [running for president],” he told Fox News. He also said that if he were to run, he would do so as a Republican candidate.
When quizzed by MSNBC, he said that he’s not rushing his decision. “Well, I’ll make it over a period of time,” he said.
Trump, 64, insisted that he is not joking and that there’s nothing sinister behind his intentions.
“I’m totally being serious because I can’t stand what’s happening to the country,” he told Fox News. “First time I am being serious about it.”
