There was a time when Samsung never worried about launching a new Galaxy Note model in the fall even though it meant running directly into a new iPhone launch.

However, with the launch of the iPhone 6 Plus last year, Samsung’s thinking may have changed. G for Games points us to a new rumor in Korean blog Whowired that claims Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 in later July, or a little more than a month before Apple is expected to unveil its newest iPhone phablet in September.

Specifically, the blog’s sources claim that Samsung has “confirmed the final specification of its latest prototype and showcased it to its clients including global telecom companies to take pre-orders before the launch at the end of July.”
