Who knew Mickey Mouse was also good for the environment?
On April 14, the power switch was flipped on for the 22-acre solar farm in Florida, which is shaped like the head of the iconic Disney character.
In development since 2015, the five-megawatt facility will power the Walt Disney World Resort and hotels nearby.

The solar farm was built by Duke Energy in cooperation with Walt Disney World.
“As a company that cares about the environment, we continually take steps of varying sizes to benefit the environment and protect the planet,” said Angie Renner, environmental integration director for Walt Disney World Resort. “This new solar facility will help us in our efforts to conserve natural resources.”
