Dirtbike Rell Dead? Twitter Users Tweet ‘RIP’ After Philly Shooting

A Philadelphia man who went by the name “Dirtbike Rell” was apparently shot and killed this week, according to reports and Twitter accounts.

Dirtbike Rell achieved local fame for Vine and YouTube videos of him performing stunts on a dirtbikes.

On Tuesday, users were tweeting “RIP” after they learned of his death.

“P.I.P SP DirtBike Rell Philly needs to chill....” one person tweeted.

Added another: “Can’t believe we lost another dirtbike homie rip dirtbike rell.”

Wrote another: “If you know anything about dirtbikes you know dirt bike rell was official.... #rip.”

“Ride In Peace Dirtbike Rell,” said another.

Twitter users pointed to a 6 ABC report saying that a man in his 20’s who was shot in Southwest Philadelphia was Rell. However, it’s unclear if the victim is him because police didn’t identify the victim.

The man was shot while sitting in his car.

The shooting took place at around 1:30 p.m. ET on the 2100 block of South 60th Street, the report said.

Police didn’t release a name, but they said the victim was shot in the head, neck, and chest.

They rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, but he died a short time later,“ the report stated. ”Police haven’t told us his name. They also haven’t said who killed him or why.”
