Dennis Farina, the longtime actor, has died at 69, his representative said, reported The Associated Press.

Farina formerly was a police officer before turning to acting.

TMZ reported that he died from a blood clot in his lung. He died in Scottsdale, Arizona on Monday.

Farina was born in Chicago in 1944, and was best known for his role as Joe Fontana on “Law & Order.”

But he starred in at least 75 movies and television series, according to CBS Chicago.

He is survived by his three children, Dennis Farina Jr., Michael farina, and Joseph Farina.
