Dave Herman, the former radio DJ host of New York City’s “Dave Herman Rock and Roll Show” on WNEW, was charged in a child sex case.
Herman, 77, was arrested in a rendezvous a 7-year-old New Jersey girl the Virgin Islands. He was arrested in St. Croix on Thursday, New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman told CBS New York.
He is slated to appear in court on Friday.
Documents in 2012 show that Herman allegedly talked to an undercover officer with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Herman thought that he was speaking to a 36-year-old woman with a 6-year-old daughter.
He bought plane tickets for the woman and child so they could fly to St. Croix, where he has a vacation home, and continued to “discuss his plan to engage in sexual activity,” NBC New York reported.
He was arrested at the St. Croix airport.
