An Amber Alert was issued for Daphne Viola Webb, a 1-year-old, who was reportedly abducted from a car in Oakland, Calif..
Webb was taken in East Oakland on Wednesday morning, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Officer Johnna Watson told the paper that her father went into a store to buy an energy drink and when he came out, the girl was gone.
People in the area reported seeing a woman walking with the girl later. The woman was described as Latina or a light-skinned black woman. She had straight black hair and was wearing blue jeans and a light-colored shirt, reported InsideBayArea.com.
“He was here maybe one, two minutes, and then this happened,” store clerk Daniel Chavez told the Chronicle.
Police were deployed to find the girl and dozens of officers were on foot. Helicopters were also Deployed.
The San Jose Mercury News reported that Webb is black, weighs around 30 pounds, is around two feet tall, and has curly black hair.
Police have also established a command post in the area.
