A road sign altered by an unknown vandal to read “Crooked Hillary” instead of “Crooked Hill Rd.” was removed by the New York Department of Transportation.
The sign in question was located on the Sagtikos Parkway near Brentwood, NY, a hamlet on Long Island. A spokesman from the DOT told Newsday that the sign was promptly removed after the department received the report. He added that “defacing public signs is illegal.”
The now-president Donald Trump coined the phrase “crooked Hillary” during his campaign against Hillary Clinton, a Democrat. Clinton suffered from severe distrust from voters during the campaign, which stemmed from a number of controversies surrounding her work with the Clinton Foundation and her term as Secretary of State.
